Fish Electro Shocking is used by pond & lake owners for a few reasons. The data that is collected can provide information about current and/or future issues, tell you about undesired species of fish and give you accurate fish populations. You can also use Fish Electro Shocking for invasive fish identification and removal, game fish management, as well as population studies and management.
To start, an electro-shocking boat is used and electricity is produced from a generator and converted to a direct current. The affected area is relatively small and in front of the boat. The fish are momentarily stunned and then collected safely with dip nets. The fish are then placed in a live well on the boat. Information is then collected and then the unharmed fish are released back into the pond.
